TOMMIE MARKETING CLUB

My pride and joy for three years of my college career. Starting as the Social Media Coordinator and leaving as the President, I dedicated hours upon hours planning ways to succeed as a club. By the time my term ended, attendance had increased, engagement online was booming, we had built a great community, and off-campus trips had made a fierce comeback.

I joined the club as a freshman, became the Social Media Coordinator, and eventually took over as President during my sophomore year. I watched this club go through its toughest moments during the pandemic. Low attendance numbers, online events, lack of hands-on experience, and most importantly, an absence of community between club members.

As President, I made it my goal to change this and bring the club back to where it belonged: on top

After several summer months developing a plan to take on the role of President, I finally had my goals and what I wanted to accomplish. I wanted to bring back field trips, increase social media engagement, and make club members feel valued at each event, regardless of how many people showed up. By the end of my term as President, we had over 220 members (making it the largest business club on campus), social media engagement was up 46%, and we went on two field trips (Allianz Field & Fallon), all while competing in the American Marketing Association’s Case Competition. And of course, all of this couldn’t have been done without the help of my wonderful Executive Board members.

The core of Tommie Marketing Club revolves around Speaker Events. This is where professionals from the Twin Cities and around the world come to our campus and speak about their experience, give advice, and answer questions.

By having these events, we offer members the opportunity to start their network! (something I believe is so so so important) Listening to professionals who absolutely love what they are doing is always inspiring, so we make sure to invite those who are passionate and are willing to spread this passion to others.
